Yoga Poses: for when you can't even adult today.

Updated: Mar 24, 2020

This post was inspired by when I found myself falling asleep on my yoga mat last night. I tried to make it so that most of the poses involved being on the floor. I realized I was tired because well, adulting is hard!

Downward Facing Dog Ease your way down. Careful not to hyperextend the back. Think of your hips pulling you up taking your body into triangle. Core engaged.

Dolphin Pose If you REALLY can't adult today, bring your downward facing dog down onto your forearms for a deeper stretch.

Sphinx Pose: Simple and effective. Lifting the heart upwards pressing down from the forearms and lower tail to heels, without over engaging the glutes.

Extended Puppy Pose: Garbanzo LOVES this stretch. He knows about 3 stretches and this is his main one. So stop, drop and Garbanzo. Feel a nice release of the lower back. Bring your chest down as much as you can towards the ground.

Leg Lift: Chill and Breath. If you really want to overachieve, point and flex your feet.

Wind Releasing Pose: Hug your knees close and breathe, slowly releasing the tension.

Middle Split / Pancake: Inhale, lift up, exhale come forward. Neck relaxed, shoulders down. With every exhale reach a little further forward.

Plough Pose: Engage your abs and lower back to help raise your legs. Lower them with control. Support yourself with your upper back, not your neck.

Hands Into Prayer

Good work today!
